On Saturday the team set off for the first wedding of the season, and what amazing weather for it. We were in a beautiful location right next to Loch Ard:
The guests arrived at half past 1 for the ceremony, which was followed by a champagne reception and some delicious canapes.
Sweet potato discs with guacamole and diced red onion (gluten-free and dairy-free)
The guests also enjoyed Stornaway black pudding pastry puffs with peach chutney, and black sesame cones with butternut squash and chestnut risotto.
Whilst the canapes were being served, some of the team converted the ceremony room in to a dining room in preparation for the guests’ sit down meal. The bride and groom had chosen simple jam jar flower arrangements, and fun favours of whisky for the men and damson gin for the ladies.
Sharing platters of warm camembert, serrano ham, olives, hummus and fresh breads were served, followed by a beautiful chicken dish with a selection of salads, including a warm sweet potato, chilli and fig salad and a tomato, padron pepper and pomegranate quinoa salad.
The guests finished their meal with a cake and coffee bar before dancing in to the wee hours.
Thank you to the bride and groom, and to Altskeith House for letting Ginger Snap be part of the big day – we can’t wait for the next one!
