The last weekend in July saw the Ginger Snap team set up camp at the beautiful Culzean Castle on the Ayrshire West Coast. With stunning views over Ailsa Craig and the Isle of Arran it was truly a spectacular venue. This Wedding was made even more special with the fact the Groom Ed used to work for Ginger Snap while studying, so it felt like a family affair.
The team arrived on Friday to set up and then on the morning of the Big Day to perfect everything. The sun was shining and with everything in place the Ceremony began in the Courtyard in front of the main entrance with a beautiful reception to follow. Various delicious canapés were served by us and our bar staff mixed up fresh jugs of Pimm’s along with ice cold Beer and Champagne.
A string quartet played along and everyone enjoyed the atmosphere and the truly picturesque views.
At call to dinner everyone moved into the marquee that was perched on the grass right next to the castle with a clear front to enjoy the view over the sea. The starter was sharing platters of fresh local dressed Mussels and Clams with Lemon and Parsley and Olive Oil Crostini’s with Pesto, Goats Curd, Oven Blushed Tomatoes and Basil Oil. Wine was served and the main course followed with wooden boards stacked with huge carved slices of roast Sirloin of Beef cooked to perfection by our chef’s with a Red Wine Jus. The Beef was accompanied by a warm salad of Sweet Potato and Fig and cold salads of Fennel, Orange and Herb Salad with Pomegranate and a Spicy Carrot Salad.
There was many compliments on the meal so far and was topped off with a dessert of zesty and refreshing Lemon Meringue Pie and a Raspberry Coulis. Yummy!!!
After the speeches the band started and everyone made their way to the dance floor. the evening bar opened and our bar team served up the Bride and Groom’s chosen Cocktails of a Gin Gimlet, shaken Vodka Lemonade and a Whiskey Sour. The fun continued and was so infectious that our team joined in with the dancing!! Sunset and more dancing, fun and laughter continued until it was time to sadly pack up. A wonderful day was had by all and a fabulous day for Ed and Kelly to remember forever.
