On Saturday, the Ginger Snap team headed to Wedderburn Castle and Barns in Duns for a beautiful sunny wedding.
The ceremony took place in the barns, then the guests walked over to the castle for pimms, champagne and antipasti on the stunning lawns. It was lovely to see the children playing on the grass and everyone enjoying the rare Scottish sunshine!
Dinner was a relaxed sharing platter meal, with slow cooked shoulder of pork and pork crackling:
A salad of Courgette, Mint and Mozzarella with a Lemon Dressing and Edible Flowers:
Roasted Parsnips and Sweet Potato with a Caper Vinaigrette:
and Roasted New Potatoes with Parmesan and Cherry Tomatoes:
For the pudding, each guest had ice cream served in a martini glass, with a selection of toppings on each table as a fun DIY dessert. The toppings included honeycomb, strawberry jelly, popping candy, chocolate pencils and hot salted caramel sauce.
This went down just as well with the adults as it did with the children – one of the younger guests was particularly pleased with the popping candy, and had an Oliver Twist moment with one of our waitresses. We were, of course, more than happy to top up his bowl for him!
The guests danced into the night, and the staff hugely enjoyed the entire event too. We cannot thank you enough for being part of your wedding day Sarah and Fraser – it was such a memorable wedding, we hope you had a wonderful time.
